Hiang Boon Tan MBChB MRCS MD
Boon is an Academic Trainee in Trauma and Orthopaedics and has been awarded consecutive fellowships from AOUK, ORUK and NIHR BRU.
He underwent early training in General Surgery/Trauma and Orthopaedics, and General Medicine in West Yorkshire prior to undergoing Basic Surgical Training in the South Yorkshire Rotation, including Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, General Surgery and Paediatric Surgery.
Boon is an Associate Editor for Hard Tissue journal and an In-House Editor for OA Publishing London.
His research interests are in the fields of fracture non-union and fragility fractures, particularly risk stratification and discovering the next biological modifiers through cell biology research.
He was a Sub-Investigator for a recent successfully completed two Phase 2B clinical trials aimed at acceleration of fracture healings.
As a medic and scientist, Boon has great interest in research integrity, publication ethics, governance, management and leadership as well as the legal side of medicine.
