Excerpt from the General P.I.E. Guidelines 3

Publications are free to present or advocate their own views and opinions within their journals regarding any fact or event; however this must be done in the knowledge that relevant data will not be misrepresented or suppressed. In such cases, the readers will be systematically informed about what constitutes fact, what is deemed opinion and what is fiction. Readers should be advised of potential conflicts of interest and manipulations of data such as image modification.
