Update 1.0 from the Publication Integrity & Ethics


PIE has taken all necessary steps to make the content of its website accessible to a wide range of people with different disabilities. We continue to install various applications with the aim to ensure that our website is accessible to people with various disabilities, including visual and hearing impairment, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech difficulties, photosensitivity and combinations of these. We comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.

Data Protection Act
PIE has made the arrangements necessary to comply with the Data Protection Act of 1998 which came into force on March 1st 2000. This will ensure the confidentiality of any personal data of its members and adherents.

PIE has taken all reasonable care to ensure that pages for members and adherents are accurate. However PIE can take no responsibility for the consequences of error or for any loss or damage suffered by users of any of the information published on any of these pages.

Freedom of Information Act

The Freedom of Information Act of November 30th, 2000 granted a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities.  Exemptions were also established. PIE complies with the act and will inform the public what information is available from the organisation under the act, when requested.
