Code of Ethics for Academics: Ethics Application, Recruiting & Consenting Candidates |
This online training course offered by Halbert Education & Training, and written by UK academics, is aimed at those interested in research ethics application, recruiting and consenting candidates. The online delivery method allows materials to be taken at a pace defined by the candidate towards achieving a certificate approved by the Publication Integrity & Ethics (π) and continuous professional development (CPD) of 20 points for undergraduates, postgraduates and all professionals. Areas including research misconduct, what to include in an ethics application and consent forms will be discussed as part of this course along with up-to-date case studies and procedures in case of breach. |

Assessment and certification |
The assessment is 3-part and in MCQ format. The questions are developed to ensure basic (not advanced) understanding of the subject. Part 1 has to be attempted and passed before the candidate can attempt part 2, and so on. When part 3 is attempted and passed, then the course is completed and the certificate can be issued. One re-sit is allowed for every part of the assessment. If the candidate fails the re-sit, access to the course will be terminated and no certificate will be issued. Appeals are allowed. |
