The Publication Integrity and Ethics (PIE) is able to recommend short online courses to its members related to the integrity and ethics in publication and research, law and medical ethics, research governance, good ethical practice and management. The course title, description and link to the course registration are usually posted on the PIE’s website as a service to our members.
The course has to be approved by the PIE Council Sub-Committee for Education prior to its launch. When approved, full accreditation (CPD points) will be given via PIE; the PIE’s logo can be published on the candidate certificates and on the organisations (in charge of the course) website. These courses are independent of PIE and their day-to day management is handled by the individual(s) or the organisation in charge of them. As a non-for-profit organisation and service to our members, PIE will be posting these courses on its site free of charge as well as encourage its members to apply for them. The aims of these courses should be to promote integrity and ethics in the publishing, media and journalism sectors as well as academic integrity in research.
The PIE Council Sub-Committee for Education will continue to monitor the progress of these approved courses and seek feedback from the candidates. The Sub-Committee will issue an annual report regarding these courses and provide feedback to the organisers. The Sub-Committee will recommend the removal of the course from the PIE’s list if the organisation (in charge of the course) has failed to comply with the Sub-Committee’s recommendations.
PIE welcomes applications about courses in these disciplines. Please submit a proposal to office@integrity-ethics.org.
